Summary:This book is about a frog who wishes to become a princess and once she gets a little taste of the life, she realizes she hates it. This book was very interesting because it takes a turn on what would be a book about a frog princess who enjoys it. The princess realizes she does not want to be a princess because it comes with so much work when she had such a simple life before.

Teacher Evaluation: I really enjoyed reading this book and would definitely use it as an entertainment book during a read aloud. I loved looking at the illustrations in this book and was quite surprised that it had no awards for illustrations and the story itself. I would use this book to also teach students that sometimes the simple is okay and make a lesson of something that makes them happy but sometimes others do not feel that way.

It has such a cute message behind it and I think students should learn from this book.

Title of the book: Let it Shine Author: Ashley Bryan Genre: Fiction Awards: Coretta Scott King 2008 Age group: 4-8 years old Summary: This book is about songs and all the colorful pictures in it allow the readers to grasp and enjoy reading the song better.  Teacher Evaluation: I think this is a great book for students who are learning to read and also brings attention to them by showing them that songs can be turned into books. I loved the pictures in this book I loved how much color it brought to the pages.

Title of book: New Kid Author: Jerry Craft Awards: Newbery Genre: Graphic Novel Age group: 8-12 years old Summary: This book is about a middle school boy named Jordan Banks who instead of going to the school that he's zoned to, he goes to a private school known for its academics. Jordan then goes from being someone constantly picked on by his classmates, and all the troubles he goes through throughout his time at the new school, we see the type of character Jordan becomes.  Teacher Evaluation: I loved reading this book, I personally loved Jordan Banks character and the story felt very real considering these are problems that still happen today.
